Books/Series to Read in Isolation

Hello!

I know this is a really strange time for all of us staying home and trying to stay sane but reading has been a big help for me and I'm sure it is helping a lot of you too! Today's post is a selection of books and series that may be worth digging into to escape from reality for a little while whether they are a new read or a re-read for you.

1. Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling

Now is the perfect time to re-read or jump in as a first timer into the 7 book long series of the incredible story of Harry Potter! I first read these books years ago when I was a lot younger and I am really tempted to re-immerse myself in this brilliant story of magic. If you don't want to commit to 7 books you could always watch the films!

2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Another series that is perfect for a re-read just in time for the sequel book to come out in May! I know a lot of us are angry at the idea of the prequel being about the early life of the villain President Snow but I am still a little bit intrigued about it? I loved this series and I even think the films were just as good and did the books justice.

3. Beach Read by Emily Henry

Two authors of completely different genres are living next to each other for the next three months trying to get past their writers block until they make a deal to write a book of the other's genre by the end of summer. Will it be a sink or swim?
I haven't read this one yet but I've seen many people have enjoyed it and it sounds really good! An excellent option if you are looking for a book to whisk you away to a lovely beach setting!

4. To All the Boys I've Loved Before

For the young adults, this series is perfect for readers looking for a cute romance story that can keep you occupied for a few days. Once you have read the series there is even the first two films available to watch on Netflix to pass even more hours away!

5. Any classic books!

I have been saying for a long time that I want to read some of the classics and now I finally have the time! But there are so many that I have no idea what to read first. I have already read Jamaica Inn by Daphne Du Maurier and LOVED it (full review here) so I would love to read more of hers.

6. And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie (or any of hers)

In this time of boredom and uncertainty we really need to keep our brains active and what better way than reading detective stories and trying to figure out the killer before the end? I love a good detective story even though I'm terrible at guessing and the culprit is usually the least suspecting character!

I hope these ideas help to keep the boredom away even if for just a little while!
Do you have any recommendations that are perfect for an isolation read?
Let me know in the comments!
